The Heart and Soul of a P4
The P4 575 is Bob Norwood’s
interpretation of the now-classic ‘60’s era race
car. Only three of the original P4’s remain and those
are rarely seen…as befits a car in the multi-million
price range.
The current incarnation of this beautiful classic sports
car, a handcrafted lightweight aluminum body mounted
to a
precisely
engineered chromalloy tubular frame.
Nestled between the cast aluminum uprights in the rear is
a late model Ferrari V12 engine coupled to a G50 5 speed manual gear box. A power to weight ratio of only 3.68 assures
a quick, exciting ride. A ride we might add that’s
characterized by that delicious Ferrari sound.
Everybody seems to have a few favorite features of the P4
that distinguish it from the also-rans. Ours includes the
wonderful curve of the fenders. Tightly following the arc
of front and back wheels, they give you a quick hit between
the eyes…there’s no mistaking this car’s
intent. To use a current buzz-phrase – it’s
purpose-built. Go fast. Corner tightly. Stop now. Subtle?
Not this car. Not under the very capable stewardship of
Bob Norwood.
Take all these components so intelligently and successfully
blended together 40 years ago, update them with current
technology under Norwood’s guidance, a man whose
blood is Ferrari red, and you have a truly exciting automobile.
